Google pixel 5 features the powerful 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor though we thought Google would have used the snapdragon 865 chipset. Coupled with this chipset are: two Cortex A76 cores, six Cortex A55 cores up to 2.4GHz & 7nm coupled with the Adreno 620 graphics card.
This has an upgraded RAM size of 8GB and has an internal storage of 128GB for premium multitasking and performance. On the benchmark Geekbench 5 multi score performance test, Google 5 scored 1617 though this isn’t quite impressive but it’s a bit higher than that of Google Pixel 4a 5G which scored 1614. It also features the latest android 11 and it’s up for updates.

Google pixel 5 has a standard-array 12.2 MP wide camera with a 27 mm-equivalent aperture of f/1.7 lens, 1.4µm pixels and 1/2.55-inch sensor coupled with a dual-pixel PDAF and OIS for low-light photography.
Due to criticism Google received for opting to feature a telephoto camera instead of an ultra wide camera it featured in the preceding model, Google decided to make the correction and opted for the ultra wide camera this time.

The ultra wide came has a 16 MP lens with an aperture of f/2.2, 1/3.09-inch sensor with 1.0µm pixels and 107° field view which means you can capture many scenes such as landscape, nature, wide life without having to move backwards. Google pixel 5 has a dimension of 5.70 x 2.77 x 0.31 inches and weighs 5.33 oz. Its front is made of glass while the back is made of aluminum coupled with an aluminum frame.
On the top center at the back, is a fingerprint sensor, a square camera block housing the dual optics. At the left, you will find the sim tray and at the bottom, you will find the USB port and a speaker. Google Pixel 5 is water and dust resistant and can stay up to 30 minutes when sunk in a 1.5 meters deep water. This feature is absent in the preceding pixel 4A.
Google pixel 5 is also 5G enabled which gives an extra boost of speed for downloading and uploading within seconds and for smooth video streaming. It has the ability of downloading a 1.3GB file in less than one minute though this depends on content provider and network connection.
The 5G network supports both the sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks. It is worth to know that the sub 6GHz 5G network is cheaper and easier to rollout and the mmWave 5G requires extra and expensive antenna modules.
